OPEN DAY AT THE MARTIN FAIXó′S WINERIES

Over a hundred people attended the event that ended with a casks race

More that one hundred people attended the Open Day that Celler Martín Faixó from Cadaqués organised on March the 3rd .  Participants visited the facilities of the winery in the Mas Perafita and tasted the different wines produced there. The day ended with a popular lunch and a casks race, where the fastest won a batch of wine.

With this event the Martin Faixó’s family wanted to show its work and its products that are made from the 11 hectares of vineyard in the Parc Natural del Cap de Creus. As it was a success this open day will have a second edition next year.

Martin Faixó’s project begins on 2000, with the planting of vines in the middle of the Cap de Creus, intending to recover the family winemaking tradition and also recover an own area crop, extinguished by the plague of phylloxera. Three years later the XIV century farmhouse Mas Perafita was bought and restored as a cellar. Completion of the project was the year 2007 with the output of the Perafita wines on the market, DO Empordà.
